Frameline Begins

framelinebanner

Well last night was the opening of the world’s largest and longest running film festival – Frameline!.  It happened at the famous and fabulous Castro Theater and the opening film was the Secret Diaries of Anne Lister directed by James Kent.  A sumptuous period piece by the BBC, it was clearly a big hit with the audience and the party after at the San Francisco Botanical Gardens was great fun. (Ginger Vodka – who knew?)

Lots of great other things to see this year, and we are thrilled to be on the list of a couple of blogger’s picks of the festival including Trevorade.  So please come out and see Beyond Gay Sunday at 11 am at the Victoria Theater. Morris, Big Gay Ken, and myself will all be there and ready to celebrate afterward.

Enjoy the festival!

World Premiere

On October 25th Beyond Gay: The Politics of Pride had its world premiere at the Image+Nation Festival in Montreal Canada.  Special guests at the screening included Vancouver Pride President Ken Coolen, Moscow Pride Founder Nikolai Alekseev, creator of the world’s first LGBT rainbow flag, Gilbert Baker and Whislter’s WinterPride President Dean Nelson; all who appear in the film.  The crowd was clearly moved by the emotional story this film tells and they lept to their feet to honour these amazing people and the filmmakers after the screening.  Many thanks to Image+Nation and to everyone who attended. The next stops on Beyond Gay’s festival tour are Sao Paulo Brazil, Florence Italy (Dec 3rd), and Vienna Austria (Dec 5th).  We hope to see you there.
